BLACK SEA COAST

The Black Sea Coast ( about 245 Km) is organized especially along the section from Mamaia to the border with Bulgaria, in a chain of modern balneary and climatic resorts.
Around Constanta ( 550,000 inhabitants ) there are the resorts of Mamaia, Eforie, Techirghiol, Neptun, Olimp, Jupiter, Venus, Mangalia.
Mamaia are the biggest resort on the coast, situated north of Constanta, boasts a broad, fine sanded 8 km long beach. Bordered by the Sutghiol Lake, its offers accommodation in a large number of hotels with, diverse recreation and entertainment facilities, Romanian cuisine and sports grounds.
Its closeness to Constanta the ancient Tomis the greatest Romanian port on the Black Sea Coast as well as the treasure of a series of ancient relics makes the resort all the more attractive.
At about 15 km south of Constanta there is Eforie. Also placed between the sea and the a lake-Techirghiol, rich in a curative mud the resorts formed by two distinctive settlements, has been known for a long time for the beneficial effects of the balneological treatments that can be undergone here all the year round.
Following the road southern most towns on the coast the old Greek colony of Callatis with a strong Turkish influence having a very ancient mosque preserved as a historical monument. Not far from there stands the Adamclisi Monument, pendant Traian's Column from the Forum in Rome.
